Agent Information and Administration
Knowing the availability and configuration of a Control-M Agent is key for managing the batch processing environment. This information is now available via APS|Manager. Typical tasks like changing the status of an Agent, suspend and resume the usage, changing an Agent configuration and performing housekeeping tasks like cleaning out unused Agents are now available for authorized users via a flexible web based user interface. |
 |
User Daily Administration
Creating and automating User Daily processes, suspending and resuming of an individual or all User Daily processes, changing and re-launching User Daily processes are simplified for Control-M administrators and can also be performed by authorized users not having full administrative rights for Control-M. |
 |
Service Administration
Housekeeping is a key activity for every Control-M administrator to ensure the reliability and performance of the Control-M environment (e.g. cleaning conditions and logs). APS Manager comes with a set of predefined maintenance jobs, called services. Services can be Control-M Server utilities and/or user defined jobs. |
 |
Log Reporting
The APS Manager user interface can also be used to request and view ctmlog information. The authorized user simply types in the query criteria like Jobname, OrderID, from and to date/time and the result is presented in a structured grid format, or in standard text format in the browser. As in other functions, the result can also be printed and exported to a .csv file. |
 |
Job Status Reporting
Without the requirement to run a command or to access the fat-client Enterprise Manager tool, APS Manager reports the job execution status in the Control-M Active Job File (AJF) via an easy to deploy web architecture. Additional information like reading the joblog, the sysout, short term statistics and properties are available at your fingertips. If authorized, users can even hold, free or rerun jobs. |
 |
Enforcing Standards
Maintaining naming conventions and standards are important to manage larger IT systems. APS Manager for Control-M assists user in conforming to company standards. For each option resulting in Control-M job definitions and executions, standard job definitions can be defined via the Agent option, the Service option and/or the User Daily option within the APS|Manager for Control-M settings. |
