<< Back VISUAL|job for Control-M - Workload Simulation
Workload simulation is accomplished using the integration of forecasting, statistical analysis and critical path features within VISUALjob for Control-M.
The goal when simulating is to determine the impact of additional jobs, or existing jobs that may run longer or shorter and ultimately how will these jobs affect SLAs and the batch window
Because of the various types of dependencies in Control-M, some jobs are part of your critical path, while other may not be. VISUALjob has the ability to identify those jobs that are part of your critical path and will ultimately affect the duration of the batch window.
When simulating, VISUALjob for Control-M allows for the use of different statistical models for job averages, based upon the different type of production runs. For example; average run times differ between month end, quarterly and daily production runs. Using the appropriate statistical models for the different simulation scenarios provides more accurate and contextual results.
