October 1, 2008: APS|ENTERprise Software launches 4.1 release of TWSemon for centralized and extended monitoring of the entire TWS for z/OS and E2E environment.
With version 4.1 of TWSemon, APS|ENTERprise offers the most robust monitoring solution for the TWS for z/OS and E2E environments, with the least amount of resource utilization. The architecture of the monitoring engines within TWSemon have been completely redesigned to virtually eliminate the usage of PIF (TWS for z/OS Program Interface). TWSemon utilizes a TWS user exit for monitoring purposes and now reads and analyzes CP data directly from TWS CP datasets and stores all information into data spaces, instead of using PIF.
“This version of TWSemon offers the most flexible method of monitoring one or more TWS environments.” states Peter Thiermann, Managing Director of APS. “PIF is a wonderful interface for performing on demand tasks; however, heavy utilization can cause a very negative resource impact. This has been eliminated from the monitoring process with this version.”
Additional enhancements in the new release include:
- New Working and Supervisors screens support monitoring and controlling up to 20 TWS controllers in a single view.
- Color coding of events in the consolidate event list
- Email notification for exception events (missed milestones, jobs exceeding long durations, specific error scenarios, etc).
- Added flexibility in computing late alert times (i.e. milestones)
