QA Measurement Extension

QA-me was created because a software quality control system serves two purposes. First, to implement rules that determine if the single system objects are to be let in and secondly, to have the capability of giving some indicators and guidelines to the different departments in a company helping them to make decisions to:

• Establish the weak areas in its own IT system in terms of “defects” (true or probable) and/or too much complexity
• Monitor over time the increase of costs, both in regards to management and in regards to the usage of resources. This latter may be due to new software versions.
• To evaluate the outsourcing costs and the “application maintenance” both in preventive terms and cost terms
• Define and measure the SLAs.

QA-me also goes beyond the boundaries of the metrics and focuses on the “institutional” objects in the applicative development (programs/routine/copy) and also on the production objects (JCL, scheduler networks) whose measurements can give further significant valuation parameters in the applicative portfolio.

QA-me also keeps the control function of the typical QA component because it introduces new validation rules for the treated objects according to data that came out of these measurements.
